end of week 2 [2nd term]

well, as per usual, things are flying by
i should update my previous post as now i know what each of the classes will be including…check out my end of week 1 post if you’re interested
i feel so rushed at times…i don’t think that’s new…but i wish i could change that feeling

there was a little lecture we had, though, that talked directly to that
it was a new approach to completing work
i’m going to give it a try

the prof said that we should link like work together and do those tasks on one day
so…say for example we have 8 projects due a week
on monday, do all the necessary RESEARCH you have to do - but do that for all projects [not just the ones you like, etc]
then tuesday, do all the necessary SKETCHING then MOCKS or perhaps all ILLUSTRATOR/INDESIGN/PHOTSHOP work for all projects
on wednesday, focus on the first project that is do and complete it
on thursday, focus on the next 2, etc.
friday, focusing again…
saturday, lol..the cycle continues

this way you’re supposedly not going to be up until 3 am the night before a project is due with tons of questions and worries
we’ll see..
i start tomorrow [lol…that’s the biggest joke: i will stop procrastinating tomorrow!!]

the term has started quite slowly…eerily slowly

prepress: had an assignment on colour correction…not too keen on that, it’s not truly a science, it’s as best that you can do with your eye
visiting designers: asked us to watch a movie…didn’t mention it once again [well, except to ask, ‘has anyone seen one, yet?’…ugh]
- i watched, ‘freaks’, a 1932 horror flick…quite odd [it’s free online]
- i taped his lecture on ‘history of gd’ - i swear he has just taken pictures out of a book :(
- he’s too condescending and it’s annoying to me…breathe :D
php: interesting course
- i don’t think it’ll be too difficult…a new adventure anyway
- i had to dig out an old website and phpize it, lol
applied design: have to start thinking of great ideas for the design show…
web development: i can’t wait to make this web invite :D
- i feel quite advanced in that class…that’s always neat!
graphic design practise: he talked about freelancing this week
i can’t wait to move to hawaii and start my business…
i’m an introvert…and the internet allows me to be my own boss…without really having to interact with anyone :)
i can use this to my advantage and set up a freelance business there
woooo hooooo :D
packaging: we worked in a focus group and talked about our ideas for our packages
- i am doing a ‘bag’ of cookies that look homemade
- i am sort of looking forward to the class… :)

phew…sometimes it makes me feel better to write these things down, then i don’t feel like i have so much to do…
other times…i get overwhelmed, lol
one day at a time :)
